Death of St Andrew’s Man in Montreal
Mr David Thomson, secretary of Montreal Caledonian Society, died suddenly on the 10th May. Deceased, who was a native of St Andrew’s, Fifeshire, and only 33 years of age, was a bookkeeper in the employment of Oliver & Co produce merchants. On the day mentioned he returned to the office from his dinner apparently in good health and spirits, but a short time afterwards was found in a state of unconsciousness, having apparently burst a blood vessel in the throat. Deceased was a popular member of the Caledonian Society, of which he was elected Secretary at the last meeting. – Scottish American.
