The Grand Scottish Gathering
The Highland Society have secured the Ampitheatre, erected for the Prince’s reception, for their games, which will take place on Monday and Tuesday next. An invitation has been sent through the patron of the Society, Sir Allan MacNab, to His Royal Highness to be present on either of those days. In addition to a number of silver medals, seven handsome gold ones are to be offered for competition. In honour of the Prince of Wales’ visit, his plume will be struck on one side of the medals.
