Last evening’s celebration of St David’s Day by the Welsh citizens of the city was a very pleasing affair. Drummond Hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion, and was filled with an audience which greatly enjoyed the programme which had been arranged. Rev. Einlon C Evans, DD, who presided, delivered a patriotic address, referring to the honorable history of the Welsh people and to the beauties of the Welsh language. The instrumental and vocal portion of the evening’s entertainment was carried out in selections by Mrs Parratt, Miss Eattersby, Mrs R Roberts, Mrs Pritchard, and Messrs Broome, Williams, Hurst, Pritchard, Roberts and Lister. During the evening refreshments were served.
