St Jean Baptiste- On Saturday the sons of St Jean Baptiste turned out in unusually large numbers to celebrate the national festival.  The principal streets were decorated with maple bouths, flags and the procession, consisting of the St Jean Baptiste Society, Institut Canadien, and other associations, was a very large one, decorated with banners, badges &c.  A religious service was performed at the French Parish Church and a Promenade concert, dinners and a ball, closed the festivities of the day.
